2008 Axiom Holiday Party

Chris and I had the honor of shooting Axiom Resource Management‘s Holiday Party at the Ritz Carlton in Tyson’s Corner last Saturday. We offered both event coverage as well as on-site portraits. I’m happy to announce that Nadia Vigliotti is a co-owner. For months she’s been working behind the scenes to support and grow the business and recently has decided to officially come on-board as we head into 2009.

Her vast skill-set includes professional wedding photography, makeup artist, marketing and office management. She’s been a big process improvement advocate at all of her previous jobs and has already become an invaluable part of this organization.

In an effort to quell a possible riot among the espresso-drinking community of Brunswick Maryland I should mention that she will continue her current position at Beans In The Belfry.

Canon EF 50mm f1.4 USM

I’ve received a few emails from my fellow Canon shooters asking what lens I used to shoot the Georgia Peach photos. Behold the Canon EF 50mm f1.4 USM. This is a fast lens with a nice, wide aperture and crisp optics. It currently sells for $314.

If you don’t have $300+ to spend on a lens you may want to consider the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II. This lens is only $85, and although it’s not quite as fast and durable as the 50 f1/4, it still features a nice wide aperture and good optics.
